When Blink-182 originally formed in Poway, California as a band named simply, ‘Blink’, they might not have expected that they’d still be touring worldwide 17 years later. Although vocalist and lead guitarist Tom Delonge left the band in 2005, the band announced in February that they were re-forming and ‘picking up where we left off’. Thus, the 2009 summer concert tour now includes Blink-182 hitting a slate of forty-eight North American tour dates.

The tour kicks off in Las Vegas, NV on July 24 and plays throughout the summer at venues in the United States and Canada before playing the final show in Virginia Beach on October 2. Included on the tour are several dates in Canada, one of which is General Motors Place (commonly known as GM Place) in Vancouver, BC.

The announcement that Blink-182 would be re-forming as a group came in the 2009 Grammy Awards, marking the first time the band had been on stage together since 2004. The band also announced that they would be returning to the studio to produce a new album as well.

The Vancouver show will feature the band’s biggest hits, including ‘Adam’s Song’, and ‘All the Small Things’. Unlike some of the U.S. tour dates which feature Weezer and Fall Out Boy, the supporting acts at GM Place will be The All American Rejects and Chester French.

The band played their first appearance together in May of 2009 and hopes to have the new album released by the end of 2009. The band has also appeared in Alternative Press and Rolling Stone.
